Dissemination Activities

Members of the Project team are keen to share, discuss and engage in finding locally useful ways of acting on findings. There continues to be a commitment for ongoing dialogue with the FE sector in Wales and more widely and we would be pleased to work with those in the FE sector and those who support its development (curriculum and policy).

During the fieldwork stage of the Project, the team concentrated on discussing findings with others in the research community and through members of its advisory group, with fforwm (the association of colleges principals in Wales), Dysg (then responsible for developing further education for the Welsh Assembly Government) and NIACE Dysgu Cymru ( The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education).

Opportunities to impact at the level of policy and practice have been significant through Project members having been well placed to feed directly into policy debates in Wales and more widely:

  • Martin Jephcote is a member of the National Pedagogy Committee for Wales and a member of the Welsh Assembly Government’s 14-19 Ministerial Advisory Group Panel.
  • Gareth Rees was the academic advisor to the ‘Webb Review’ (Promise and Performance: The Report of the Independent Review of the Mission and Purpose of Further Education in Wales). He is also a member of the Directorate of Nuffield Review of 14-19 Education and Training
